The Blanket

When Sean was just a newborn his grandfather (Robbie's great grandfather), knit him the blanket seen here. With proper care, perhaps Robbie's son will be able to play on it some day.

A Late Christmas

Illness and conflicting schedules conspired to keep Sean, Margaret and Robbie from exchanging presents with Dave, Jo, and the boys. However, in late February they finally got together.

Switcheroo

After more than 7 months of Margaret staying home with Robbie, she went back to work, and Sean took time off work to stay home with the boy. The first day of work for Margaret featured a teary goodbye.

First Words (not quite)

For the past few weeks Robbie has been making sound that one could mistake for words. First he was saying "hi", then "dada" and most recently "ah". However, a lack of context means that they are likely just random sounds. Oh well, soon Robbie, soon.

First Roll (the whole way)

It didn't take long after rolling back to front that Robbie found he could do the reverse. Though he's yet to discover that rolling is an effective way to get around.

Second Tooth

One week after his first tooth appeared, Robbie's second tooth began to show itself.

The Play's The Thing

After months of serving as a crib, and then as a change table, Robbie's play pen finally saw use as a play pen. (you can see the play pen serving as a crib in the post Robbie's Room; in Uncle Rob's Cuddle Time II and 6 Months Today you can see it in the background in the living room, acting as a change table)

Gaining Weight VIII

At six and a half months Robbie weighed 14lbs and 9oz. His length was up to 26 inches.

First Roll (half way)

After months of coaxing, particularily from Margaret, Robbie finally rolled from his back to his stomach on his own today. Surprisingly he didn't seem to mind being on his stomach so much when he got their on his own (he previously has hated it when someone else puts him there).

First Tooth

After long anticipation (Margaret thought a different tooth was going to surface months ago) Robbie's first tooth finally rose above the gums today.

Give Me Five - 6 months

Robbie in His Playcentre II

After months of just looking confused when put in his playcentre, Robbie finally started getting really involved in exploring it.

Uncle Rob's Cuddle Time II

Uncle Rob and Alison came over to look after Robbie for a night so Margaret and Sean could go out on a date. Crowds, weather and illness all factored in making the night a bust for Margaret and Sean, but the two Robs and Alison had a great time.

Christmas Eve

Margaret swore that having a child would mean the end of a tradition she and Sean had of opening their gifts early. Oh well, maybe next year.

Twas The Week Before Christmas

Friends Greg, Val and Rob (Anderson) came over to exchange gifts. All Robbie got was some wrapping paper, which seemed to suit him just fine.
